The purpose of the South Limestone Street Reconstruction Project is to create a safer transportation corridor that serves as a gateway to Springfield for both pedestrians and motorists, while also promoting economic development in Clark County.
The project covers the stretch of Limestone Street between I-70 and Singer Street. This section of South Limestone currently has two traffic lanes in each direction. Several studies have been conducted to assess crash issues, traffic flow, safety, visual appeal, and the overall potential for economic development in the area.
