According to NCDOT a large bypass project is planned around Hampstead, NC. This project is happening in different pieces. It includes improving the U.S. 17 and Market Street Corridors in Pender and Hanover Counties, extending Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington from Market to U.S. 17 and building a bypass around Hampstead.This massive project will affect 125 parcels of land. NCDOT has allocated approximately 30 million dollars for land acquisition. Right of way is planned for 2018 through 2020.If your land will be affected by the new Hampstead Bypass or “improvements” to U.S. 17, Market Street and Military Road you need to fully understand your rights.
