Project Details
The Greentown-Reynolds Project is a new 765-kv electric transmission line connecting Duke Energy’s Greentown substation (just east of Kokomo, IN) to NIPSCO’s Reynolds substation located in Reynolds, IN. The new line will be approximately 70 miles in length and will cross five counties in Indiana: Howard, Miami, Cass, Carroll, and White. This project will cost roughly $328 million with construction anticipated to start in early 2016.

The final route for new electric transmission lines through the area has been determined.
The project is a joint effort between the Northern Indiana Public Service Company and Pioneer Transmission — a joint venture of Duke Energy and American Electric Power. Titled the Greentown-Reynolds project, it will ultimately connect Duke Energy’s Greentown substation east of Kokomo to NIPSCO’s substation in Reynolds.
