Project Overview
Project Details
AEP Ohio is preparing to upgrade the power grid in Delaware and Licking counties to accommodate the surge in electricity demand expected over the next five years due to economic growth. The plan involves constructing two 13-mile power lines, each carrying 345 kilovolts. These lines will connect the Vassell Substation in Sunbury to two new substations located off Green Chapel Road in New Albany.
However, before moving forward with the project, approval from the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) is necessary. Once approved, these upgrades will help meet the rising electricity needs and ensure a reliable power supply for customers in the area.
