Project Overview
Project Details
The Ameren Central Illinois Grid Transformation Program includes the installation and upgrade of approximately 400 miles of transmission line and facilities across Central Illinois. The project will involve the installation of new transmission line and the reconstruction and upgrading of others. This project will largely be built within pre-existing right-of-way, but there are segments where new lines will be built. This project will affect thousands of landowners across Illinois and, per Ameren, will begin construction next year.
Ameren applied to the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) for approval of this project in February 2024, and approval of the project is expected in early 2025. Once the project is approved, and if eminent domain authority is bestowed on Ameren by the ICC, Ameren should begin condemnation of properties in 2025.
