TransWest Electricity Powerline

The TransWest Express Project will deliver 20,000 GWh/yr of clean energy from Wyoming to Arizona, Nevada, and southern California. This wind resource map shows mean annual wind speed at 80 meters, with darker orange-red indicating higher speeds. Without new lines like TWE, California and Desert Southwest utilities can’t access Wyoming’s renewable energy.

The TWE Project will provide Wyoming’s wind power to densely populated regions, equaling three-fourths of Los Angeles’ usage. It will help balance the grid by complementing California’s renewable resources and reducing reliance on peak-priced fuels, aiding GHG emissions reduction and renewable energy goals. The TWE Project also offers export capacity for Desert Southwest solar resources.
