Residents are getting a chance to voice their opinion on a 70 mile electric transmissions line from Greentown in Howard County to Reynolds in White County. The planners of Greentown-Reynolds Electric System Improvement Project are looking to select a final route that will create the least amount of disruption.
The property owners are coming to the open house to voice their concerns for the project; these concerns are what the developers want to hear. This project is part of a larger plan throughout the Midwest to modernize the infrastructure. The Greentown-Reynolds is one of two major projects in Indiana. The other project is Reynolds Topeka Electric System Improvement Project. A final route will be selected in June or July according to the director of communications and the construction is slated to begin in early 2016, with the line up and running in 2018.
