Public hearing set for Posey Co. road project

POSEY CO., IN (WFIE) –

The Indiana Department of Transportation is seeking the public’s comment on a proposed road project in Posey County.

Officials said the project includes improvements to the intersection of S.R. 66 at Rexing Road/St. Phillips Road/C.R. 1100E.

The proposal includes adding a westbound right-turn lane onto Rexing Road, and replacing a box culvert just west of the intersection.

INDOT officials said the project would require purchasing approximately four acres of new right-of-way, and they anticipate no homes or businesses will be displaced.

The public hearing will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 6:00 p.m. at South Terrace Elementary School Library, located at 8427 Haines Road in Wadesville.
