One family in Will County is not going to lay down.
The Barbour family will ask a Will County Judge today to schedule a hearing to hear objections to the State’s acquisition of their property for the proposed South Suburban Airport.
IDOT filed a lawsuit to acquire the Barbours’ land by eminent domain for the anticipated airport.
As it stands, the airport is still “planned;” its plans were submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration last month. Because of its uncertain future, the Barbours will argue that acquiring their property is premature and, potentially, completely unnecessary.
