As anticipated, the much heralded and discussed Illiana Corridor will receive federal approval by the end of the year, per INDOT.
This marks another accomplishment for the planned interstate, which if constructed, will connect Wilmington, IL to Lowell, IN.
The next step for the massive project will be to narrow the 2,000 foot corridor to 400 feet and determine the specifics of the road and interchanges.
