ICC Wants Sydney to Elaborate on Objections to Ameren Powerline

The Illinois Commerce Commission wants the Town of Sydney to expand on its December Petition to Intervene and objection to the proposed Ameren Three Rivers Project.

Sydney has asked that the ICC not grant Ameren’s petition to build a 345,000-volt powerline along the town’s southern edge, which the town argues will completely landlock it.

The ICC also asked that the village explain whether it objects to the entire length of the route or to just a portion. The village will respond that it objects only to the portion from the railroad to a half-mile west of Sidney’s corporate limits.
