While there is much discussion of the proposed high speed rail to criss-cross the Lincoln State, there is little doubt that land will need to be acquired to support the new high speed trains.
The question as to how much land will be needed, though, is not as clear.
Much of the anticipated high speed rail is supposed to be built on existing track, but for certain areas–Springfield for example–new track must be laid and naturally, land must be acquired.
