CHADBOURN, NC (WECT) – The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is holding a public meeting to discuss the possibility of building an overpass at the intersection of U.S. 74 and Old U.S. 74.
NCDOT officials say the need for the overpass is directly related to the number of traffic crashes at the intersection. They are hoping that an overpass would make the route safer.
NCDOT representatives will be available during the open-house style setting to provide information, answer questions, and collect comments regarding the proposed project.
The meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, in the Council Chambers at the Chadbourn Town Office at 602 North Brown Street. Public comments will also be accepted through Jan. 29.
