According to the N.C. Department of Transportation, 1.8 miles of 15th Street in Washington – from west of U.S. 17 Business (Carolina Avenue) heading east to U.S. 264 is scheduled for improvement and widening.
NCDOT estimates that approximately 100 parcels of land will be affected. The N.C. Department of Transportation has allocated approximately 5.5 million dollars for right of way land purchases.
