PSNC Energy Plans Pipeline Extension for Franklin, Wake (N.C.)

By 2017, PSNC Energy has plans to begin construction on a transmission pipeline that will connect two existing pipelines, in Franklin and Wake counties. The Energy company hopes to accommodate what they say is an increased demand for natural gas.

When completed, the pipeline is expected to be between 20 and 29 miles, with a cost of nearly $35 to $45 million.

Before construction may begin though, PSNC must notify the state’s Utility Commission so that safety inspections can be completed and permits can be obtained.  From this point, rather than any required approval from the state, PSNC is entrusted with using their judgement to best serve the public with this project and expand their services as they see needed.
