After meeting with local residents, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has weighed in on the Clarksville Natural Gas Interconnect Pipeline Project, responding to residents’ concerns.
The proposed plan for the project is to construct an additional 20.8 mile pipeline across Todd County which would connect to the Tennessee Gas Pipeline, adding 52,000 million cubic feet per day to a natural gas reserve.
Residents have expressed concern though over environmental hazards that may be associated with the project, including the impact on springs and wells, the threat to several threatened species, and the potential effect on farmland and the Trail of Tears.
Still though, FERC has responded with findings that the project will not significantly harm the residents or the environment, which means the proposed pipeline can continue to progress forward.
